A recent update of myself. A few weeks ago, i was pleasantly surprised with a pay raise from the boss. All of you guys reading this post now better hold on to yourselfs now before you start calling me for treats... As a employee designer, my pay is nothing compared to all those bankers/lawyers/engineers out there. Let me whine for a while here, i'm sure all my fellow designer buds have the same gripe. Why is it that i can never find the occupation "Designer" when i'm filing some application? Why do we always have to tick "OTHERS"??
Why? Last time gahment think designers' are not considered a occupation? Always remember, designers are responsible for the simplest things you have in life. From the toilet bowls you shit in, to the computer you are viewing this post now...
Anyways, BAH to that. A lot of things irritate me nowadays. For example -
Public transport : Why issit that buses always runs off in 2s when you are rushing in the morning? You wait for a good blardy 20mins if you're unlucky and then see 3 buses coming together at once. And when you complain, SBS retaliates with a stupid advertisement on their buses, featuring 2 same buses in the jam and insinuating that sometimes 2 buses arriving at the same time cannot be helped. FUCK YOU UNDERSTAND?! How different is that retaliation different from slapping you and telling you - "stupid idiot, just shut up and wait. you can't do anything anyway coz i monopolize singapore! hahahaha!" Then they will cite many reports saying that a lot of countries say our public transport is world class. World class my lan jiao! You dare to take your public transport and compare with BETTER cities like Japan? SBS asks for "quality" cash but do they provide quality service? If you think public transport is cheap, think twice! Yesterday, my family of 4 wanted to head to my aunt's place in street 82 while i lived in street 21. To get there on public transport, i have to spend $0.65 plus another $0.35 as i change bus at the interchange. (0.65+0.35) X 4 = $4. We took a cab and guess what was the fee? It was $3.50! Wow, if i took an SBS bus, i would have to put up with dirty buses who doesn't arrive, take another effort to change bus at the interchange and the whole cycle of waiting comes back again. The more you calculate, the more you start thinking about how bad public transport is. I shall stop here now and stop complaining, because you know what, i'll still have to take it tomorrow morning. How oxymoronic!
On a lighter note, weekends were well spent with great friends and activities. We caught 881 on the big screen. Was a really good movie for a local production, sans the usual suaning of gahment and acting as ugly singaporeans to gain laughter and box office. Take that, Jack Neo. I highly recommend this show, go catch it also if you have a hidden beng/lian in ya. Saturday was spent at wing's house for a good mahjong session. Had a pretty good winning hand at first but when tapi and cindy come and 5 fan 5 fan all the time, we suffered huge losses. Heng, i near the end also 4 fan 4 fan win back some cab fare *sob sob* Heard tapi is going philippines for a job, hope he'll be safe there and looking forward to a great dinner/mahjong session to send him off!
